Theme of the month: Newcomers, in this case, the cheeky e-Up! |
Newcomers Edition
We start looking at October Sales by looking as usual at Sweden, the first country to post detailed EV sales.
With 139 units sold in October, the swedish EV market the third consecutive month of growth, but it's still behind the 200-ish units/month of '13 1st Quarter.
In the models ranking the Nissan Leaf scores a new personal best record (46 units), scoring a second monthly #1 for the japanese EV.
The next in the ranking are the usual Prius Plug-In (26 units) and Volvo V60 Plug-In (25 units), with no major surprises in the rest of the ranking, with the exception of two new model landings...
First, the Outlander PHEV lands with 10 sales and a meritable monthly #5 position, a good start for what it could be a pretender at #1 in the coming months.
Second, the VW e-Up! sells it's first 6 units in Sweden, an encouraging start for the VW first production EV, it will be interesting to see how the german manufacturer markets this little car in the next few months, as it may say a lot about on how the VW Group will be committed to plug-in cars.
