Nissan Leaf the EV Ambassador in the Ukraine
Despite economic difficulties, EV's are becoming all the rage in the Ukraine, thanks to import tax exemptions for electric cars. This allowed the Ukraine to leap several steps in EV-adoption ladder and be one of the fastest growing market in the world, share-wise.
If in 2014 there were 115 EV's in this market, by the end of 2015 the number surged to 568 units, with the Nissan Leaf representing the bulk of units (383), with Tesla in Second (42 units), followed closely by Ford (21 units) and Citröen (20).
Looking into 2016, the growth trend seems poised to continue, as people are deeply interested in this subject and charging infrastructure is said to grow exponentially, so i would say that probably the EV fleet will probably reach 2.000 units at the end of the 2016, although most of these units are imports, as many of the brands represented in this ranking haven't yet started to sell EV's oficially in the Ukraine, something that begs the question: "What are they waiting for?"
