The new leader in Sweden |
Well, That Was Fast... Edition
After a short hangover period from last December sales rush, the Swedish EV market has already recovered and pressed again the accelerator, with 1.272 units in March, up 81% YoY, making this the second best sales month ever, below the 2.080 units of last December.
As result of this unexpected performance, the EV Share jumped to 2.63%, already 0.01% above the 2015 record.
Looking at the monthly models ranking, the middle-managers newest plug-in darling, the VW Passat GTE, ensured its second leadership score, with 293 units (Personal Best), followed by the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S, both with 142 units.
Tesla's Model S result represent a 45% rise Year-on-Year, but its real competitors are still far, with each of the Three Mary's representatives (A6, 5-Series & E-Class) having sold around 500 units last month.
Last year's Best Seller finally showed up in the ranking, with the Outlander PHEV scoring its first Top 5 of the year.
