Caliente!
EV Sales continue hot in Spain, with 463 sales, the triple of April '15, with YTD sales shooting up a sensational 188% YoY, an impressive result, pulling the EV Share to a record 0.38%, a new record for the Spain.
There was a leadership change in this year accumulated sales, with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV returning to #1 and displacing the Nissan Leaf to the runner-up position.
The 144 units registered in April by the Outlander PHEV set a new absolute monthly record for a PHEV, while the 270 units YTD sold in only four months means that the 2012 all-time sales record (943 units, by the Renault Twizy) could be in danger for the first time ever...
Two EV's deserve a special mention, if the 51 units of the Smart Fortwo ED can be mostly attributed to the Car2Go car-sharing fleet, the six Model S deliveries represent a new (admittedly small) record for the american car, with an increasing number of Superchargers popping up in Spain, the demand for the all-electric sports sedan is to expected to only go higher.
On the manufacturers ranking, Nissan stays continues in the leadership (25%, down 4%), followed by the new runner-up Mitsubishi (18%, up 6%) and Renault (16%).
A curious fact is that two of the Top 5 best selling models are LCV's, a rare event nowadays.
