Canadian sales of full-size flagship luxury cars slid 9% in October 2016 after experiencing healthy growth through the first three-quarters of 2016.
Let down by the uncommon Audi A8, the transitioning Porsche Panamera, and the top-selling Mercedes-Benz S-class, the gains reported by the BMW 7-Series and a couple of smaller players were cancelled out.
Canadian sales of the BMW 7-Series, new this year, are essentially double what BMW managed through the first ten months of 2016. It's still highly unlikely that BMW will match the 7-Series sales total from 2012 – when 755 were sold – but the biggest BMW is undoubtedly on the rise.

GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts. Sales data for brands such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Rolls-Royce etc. are unfortunately not made available in Canada. Sales data for brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Rolls-Royce are unfortunately not broken down by model. ANDC estimates say sales for those brands in 2016's first ten months were 180, 145, and 70 units, respectively. It is believed that Tesla sold 1821 new vehicles during the first nine months of 2016. GCBC shows the Cadillac XTS and CT6, Hyundai Equus, and Kia K900 with midsize luxury cars not because of their size, but because the price points are much more directly comparable.
