Canadian sales of full-size SUVs more than tripled to 2711 units in November 2016 as General Motors Canada increased its share of the volume brand, body-on-frame SUV segment to 85%.

GM owned 69% of the full-size SUV category one year ago; 65% through the first ten months of 2016. But Canadian sales of the Chevrolet Suburban more than tripled in November 2016. The Chevrolet Tahoe, the highest-volume GM full-size SUV, more than quadrupled its Canadian November sales. The GMC Yukon nearly quadrupled its November tally. GMC's Yukon XL volume grew by more than five times.

Incidentally, GM's two highest-volume rivals in November both posted big improvements last month, as well. 

The Ford Expedition, the highest-volume individual nameplate in the category (Ford Canada includes both long and short-wheelbase Expeditions under one heading), jumped 60%. 

Sales of the new Nissan Armada shot up 173% to 109 units.
