Half Full, Half Empty Edition
Looking across the Pond to the US Plug-In market, one analyze it through two different perspectives: With 8.710 units sold in November, US sales dropped 11% regarding last month, which it seems consistent with the last up/down sales trend with a bad month always following a good one. Another way to look at it, is that this month actually represented the third best month EVER, just behind last October (9.696 units) and August (11.078), AND it represents an 18% rise regarding the same month of 2012. so it wasn't a surprise to see the EV share rise again to 0,61%.
On the models ranking, the Nissan Leaf (2.003 units) won the Gold Medal but the Chevy Volt (#2 this month with1.920 units) is still #1 YTD.
The Ford Energi brothers had some time to breathe from all those record figures from previous months, with the C-Max scoring just 941 sales and the Fusion recording 870 units, a second personal best, remaining both firmly at #5 and #6 respectively.
Further down the ranking, we assist to another good month from the Smart Fortwo ED (#7 this month with 153 sales) and a position switch, with the Fiat 500e climbing to #12 at the expense of the Honda Accord Plug-In.
Finally, a new (And expensive) player has landed: The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid sports sedan started selling their first units in the US, but Tesla shouldn't be bothered by it, has their sales perspectives are expected to be measured in two digit numbers...
