With 8.060 units sold in September, US sales dropped 37% regarding last month, which it seems a tremendous sales dive, until you realize that August was a freak month, with several models reaching at the same time record sales, now one can say that September was "Back to Reality", and excluding August, this month actually represented the third best month EVER, just behind last June (8.297 units) and December '12 (8.559), so it wasn't a surprise to see the EV share rise again to 0,57%.
On the models ranking, the Nissan Leaf (1.953 units) won the Gold Medal this month but it wasn't enough to remove the Chevy Volt from #1 YTD, Silver Medal with 1.766 units. The Bronze Medal went for the Prius Plug-in (1.152 units) for the third time in a row, but the third place YTD is out of the question for the japanese hatch, because the Tesla Model S (#4 this month) is some 5.000 units ahead, so this year it will impossible to repeat the podium presence Toyota had last year (#2, ahead of the Nissan Leaf).
The Ford Energi brothers both had record sales, with the C-Max scoring 758 sales, best score of the year and the Fusion recorded 750 units, a personal best, remaining both firmly at #5 and #6 respectively.
Further down the ranking, we see the Toyota RAV4 EV closing in to #8 Mitsubishi I-Miev and a position switch, with the Smart Fortwo ED climbing to #10 at the expense of the Honda Fit EV.
