Vacances II Edition
The French EV market declined yet again to 774 units sold, and there's nothing new here, as August is usually the worst selling month in France, due to holiday periods. What is a bit concerning, is that in the same month of 2013, sales surpassed 800 units, this trend also happened in the French global auto market, with last month being the worst in decades...When will the dark clouds disappear over the auto french market?
Speaking of the Models ranking, the leader Renault Zoe was down (167 units), just like most of the competition, which must have gone to the Cote D'Azur to enjoy the sun. The workhorse Kangoo ZE, instead, stayed at full speed, registering 232 units and winning the Best Selling title at the same time.
In the midst of this Laissez-Faire, there were two important introductions to the ranking, the VW e-Golf landed with 51 units and jumped right away to #5 in the monthly ranking, promising to be one tough cookie for the rest of the competition, will we see the german car fighting for the leadership soon? The other new addition is the Kia Soul EV, registering its first 11 units, if the korean brand starts to be as agressive in the EV market as it is in the regular car market, we should see the Soul EV slowly but surely climbing positions over time.
By brands, Renault is high above in the leadership, now with 52% share, followed by Nissan (12%) and Bolloré (9%).
