Canadian sales of the Ford Transit jumped 16% to 10,204 units, which, together with the Ford E-Series, equalled 42% of the full-size commercial van market. The Ford Transit Connect, meanwhile, despite flat sales, owned 34% of the small commercial van market.

General Motors is the second-highest-volume van brand in Canada. With three vans, including the Chevrolet City Express on loan from Nissan, GM earned 29% of all Canadian commercial van sales.

Ram's van market share fell to 11% in 2016 from 15% in 2015. Mercedes-Benz's van market share rose to 15% from 13% in 2015. Nissan owns 5% of Canada's commercial van market.
