We start the month with Sweden, land of massive Volvo's and old quirky Saab's, the local EV market has had its second best month ever last month, with 1.617 units, an improvement of 152% over the same period last year, with the EV Share hitting once again a new record at 3.55% and YTD registrations already beating the previous record 9.039 units, achieved last year.
Looking at the monthly models ranking, while the first positions show no real news, with the VW Passat GTE leading, with 422 units (And 50% of all Passat sales), followed by the Outlander PHEV, with 214 registrations, representing 75% of all of the Japanese SUV sales.
The real news come from Tesla, placing its two models in the Top 5, with September being the real landing month for the Model X, with 129 units, while the Model S recorded a Year Best, with 163 units.

Looking at the YTD ranking, despite a boiling market, the first positions remain the same, with the Passat GTE rock-solid in #1, with 2.885 units and 30% share, at this rhythm, the German midsize product will beat the YTD record for a single model next month, now at 3.297 units, set last month be the Outlander PHEV.

- The Tesla Model X surged to #13, and is now looking for a final Top 10 place;
- Other model destined for success is the Kia Optima PHEV, landing with an impressive 88 units, surpassing already the Mercedes C350e in the YTD ranking, the tree pointed star model is becoming a disappointment here, with the BMW 330e selling four times as much, is it laziness from the Swedish importer or are local buyers not into plug-in Mercedes?
There was another new entry in the Swedish EV Market, the BMW 740e registered its first 6 units, while on the Fuel Cell front, the Mirai has finally landed, with the first two units now
On the EV manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen (35%) is firm in the leadership, followed by Volvo (17%, down 1%) and BMW (12%) in Third, with Mitsubishi (11%) a close Fourth.

If we combine September sales of regular hybrids with plug-ins, we see the Toyota Auris returning to the leadership, thanks to a brilliant 672 units, followed by the VW Passat GTE and the Outlander PHEV.
The Yaris Hybrid was Fourth, followed by the all-electric Tesla Model S.
A final mention for the Kia Niro Hybrid, it registered 156 units last month and promises to be a frequent customer in the next months, is Toyota finally having a valuable competitor in the regular hybrid race?
